Omrice (Omu rice) stands for rice in the omelette. I believe this is originally from some of Japanese restaurant back in the early 1900. It used to be a food for cooks in the restaurants and gradually become popular as a restaurant menu. Nowadays, it’s very popular to many people in Japan.
Ingredients
- Rice
- Chicken or sausage
- (Shimeji mushroom)
- Onion
- Tomato ketchup
- Black pepper
- Salt
- Egg
Cooking Instructions
- Chop onions in very small
- Cut chicken or sausage in bite size
- Put oil in the pan and heat it up
- Stir fry onions with middle heat
- Add shimeji mushroom to the pan
- Add chicken or sausage into the pan and continue to stir fry
- Add salt
- Add rice and mix with onions, and chicken or sausage
- Add tomato ketchup and mix with them
- Add black pepper
Once rice is ready, put rice in a bowl and set them aside. Put full of rice in a small cup and flip into a plate. If you can make it like this, you did good job!
- Crack eggs into a bowl and beat them
- Add oil to a pan with weak heat
- Pour eggs to a pan and wait for 3 min
- Use a spatula and carefully take eggs out and put it on top of the rice
- Add tomato ketchup on top
