- 500 g Chicken thighs
- ½ Apple
- 30 ml Soy Sauce
- 10 g Sugar
- 15 g Sake
- 2 g Garlic
- 2 g Ginger
- Oil
Grate the 1⁄2 apple, then mix it together with the soy sauce, sugar, sake, garlic, and ginger.
Hold the chicken thighs open using a fork and spread the sauce mixture onto them. The chicken thighs should then be kept in a ziploc bag for a half to a full day.
Next, remove the chicken from the bags and heat them in a frying pan with some oil. The leftover sauce mixture should be added to the frying pan as well. Adjust the heat accordingly.
Place a lid on the pan and allow the chicken to cook for about 10 minutes. Once the chicken is properly cooked and the sauce has thickened, you are all done.
Adding the grated apple to the sauce, then letting the chicken sit in the sauce helps to keep it moist and tender when cooked. The dish has some sweetness, meaning kids will enjoy it as well. Be sure to adjust the heat accordingly and to not overcook.
